Staying safe on MARTA

Updated over a year ago

Always buy, sell and communicate in the MARTA app to stay safe. This way, we can protect you and your money and help if anything goes wrong.

Buying or selling outside can compromise your safety and is therefore prohibited and against our terms.

Important safety do's and dont's

  • Never share personal information such as your phone number, email address, bank account details, or social media handles with other users.

  • Only use MARTA's messaging system to communicate with other users.

  • Never directly send money to another user to purchase an item.

  • Use the in-app report functions for users and items to inform us if you see something prohibited and against our guidelines.

  • Only use tracked methods for shipping and returns.

  • Avoid any transactions which request in-person collection or drop-off.

  • Review and request proof of your item's authenticity before you purchase.

  • Report any issue timely. Within ten days of placing the order, if you don't have received tracking information from the buyer. Or at the latest three days after receiving your items in case of tracked delivery.

  • Keep a photo of your original proof of purchase receipt.

  • Only ship your item to the address on the MARTA sales receipt.

  • Verify that you have received your funds before sending your item.

  • Only issue refunds for returns after first receiving your item back.

Don't take the risk – always keep it in-app so we are ready to step in if you need our help.
